Gus Roome is passionate about the art of advisory services and the design of employee benefit solutions. Clients buy into an exclusive, high quality, reliable and professional brand where each client becomes a confidant. He has 27 years of employee benefit experience.
 
Gus began his journey at Alexander Forbes as a Trainee Portfolio Administrator in 1996 and then worked for NBC Consultants & Actuaries in 1998. He then became a Broker Consultant for Sanlam Life where he was responsible for new sales and marketing of employee benefit products to brokers. Gus then moved on to become a Client Relationship Manager for Enigma Solutions in 2002 where he consulted to a portfolio of retirement funding clients. He then continued to sharpen his skills as an employee benefit consultant through Aon Consulting South Africa, Consolidated Employee Benefits (Pty) Ltd, RFS Consultants & Actuaries (Pty).  Gus became self-employed in 2010 and became an Independent Consultant.
 
Gus Roome Independent Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd was officially established in 2012 and the company obtained its authorised financial service provider licence in 2016, with Gus being the Director and Key Individual of the company. In 2021 he joined the GCI Employee Benefits team as a Key Individual and Senior Consultant for employee benefits.
 
Gus obtained a National Diploma in Marketing, certificate in Pension Funds Law, is an Associate of the Institute of Financial Markets and is also qualified in the (Advanced) ART of Professional Business and Life Coaching.
